What is Financial Peace University? FPU provides commonsense, biblically based money principles on budgeting, becoming debt-free, wise-spending practices, building wealth, and more. Enrollment in the course offers not only in-person classroom instruction but access to additional online resources and budgeting apps for an entire year.
When will FPU meet? We will meet each Sunday, for seven weeks, beginning January 25, 2026, and ending March 8, 2026. We will offer a complimentary light lunch immediately after worship service followed by a two-hour class.
Who can enroll? The class is open to any adult in our community and is designed to be of value to people of all stages of life. The course is for adults only -- childcare will not be provided.
How much does it cost? We offer enrollment in FPU at the deeply discounted rate of $69.90. Membership in the course can be shared with another household member, so that tuition rate covers both spouses. Membership also grants access to a full year of online Ramsey+ resources. But it gets even better! The LCMS Mid-South District is offering full tuition reimbursement at the end of the session for all who successfully complete the course with perfect attendance.
How do I enroll? There will be a table set up in the lobby beginning Sunday, November 16 where you can get more information, ask questions, and register for the class. You can also contact the course instructors/coordinators, John and Karen Hlinka, directly. Note: Do not sign up directly through the Dave Ramsey website. You will pay more, get fewer resources, and won’t get reimbursed by the LCMS!
How do I pay? Immanuel Lutheran Church purchased several “seats” to establish the course, so those who enroll will need to reimburse the Church with a check made out to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Again: Do not sign up directly through the Dave Ramsey website. You will pay more, get fewer resources, and won’t get reimbursed!
What’s the deadline to enroll? Sunday, January 18. The class is limited to 26 attendees. Enroll early to guarantee your spot.
Why are we offering this course at Immanuel Lutheran? God wants us to be financially responsible. There are over 200 scriptures referring to financial responsibility and the importance of being good money managers and investors. Being financially stable leads to less stress in marriages, a more secure retirement, the freedom to be more generous with others, and, yes, the ability to give back to the Church through tithing.
Financial knowledge isn’t something we’re born with; these are skills that need to be learned and practiced. Please help us promote this FPU offering. This is an incredible opportunity for you, or someone you know, to gain that knowledge with the security and peace that come with it.
